EmploymentThe Staff Accountant PositionUpon graduating, many accounting majors are not sure which area of accounting they would like to work in after graduation. Tax? Audit? Both? Without extensive real-world experience it is difficult to select one of these disciplines over the others. At Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co., our entry-level Staff Accountant position provides the opportunity to learn Tax, Audit and other Accounting disciplines right out of school. As a result, our Staff Accountants learn multiple accounting skills and build a solid foundation of expertise before they identify their long term career path. Training, The CPA & MentoringAll Staff Accountants are provided with a thorough training program during their first year of employment. This will include the new hire orientation program, the 5-day CSH University program, 16 hours of Tax and Software training and informal on-the-job training on our IT systems and our client solution delivery methodologies. Staff with the CPA credential will be provided with an additional 40 hours of paid CPE per year. Mentoring: each Staff Accountant will be provided with a Mentor. The mentor's role is to provide an objective and knowledgeable voice and to assist junior staff members as they embark upon a career in Public Accounting.
