There's more to valuations than meets the eye
We are dedicated to serving your needs with regard to estate and succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, valuation of intangible assets and litigation support. We often work with other CPA firms who cannot serve as valuators due to conflicts of interest or independence. Our business valuations team is made up of members credentialed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), and have received the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designations.
Meet the Business Valuations Team
Each valuation assignment is unique, and each engagement requires in-depth analysis and a thorough understanding of the business being valued. However, the findings can be reported in different ways, depending on the circumstances of the engagement. Below is a summary of the various reports that could be compiled to meet your specific needs and budget.
Full Valuation Report
This report will be a full valuation of your business, resulting in a conclusion of value. Your CSH BV professional will be free to consider all valuation approaches and methods, and apply those deemed appropriate to your specific business and situation. A full valuation report includes sections of narrative about your business, and is typically produced when the information will be used by third parties. Such instances may include tax-related issues, filings with governmental agencies, and litigation.
Summary Valuation Report
Limited report, full calculations
This report will also be a full valuation of your business, resulting in a conclusion of value. However much of the narrative material will be summarized rather than fully explained in the report, thus reducing the cost of a full valuation report.
Calculation Report
Short report, limited calculations
Not truly considered a valuation engagement, this budget-friendly appraisal and report of your business will result in a calculated value, not a conclusion of value. The calculation will be based on findings from agreed-upon valuation approaches and methods. Your BV professional will perform a less extensive set of procedures than those used to write a Valuation Report. The value results may differ slightly from those obtained through the usually-performed procedures of a valuation engagement, but this budget-friendly option is appropriate in some situations.
