Marsha O. Johnson has nearly 20 years of experience working on complex tax compliance and tax controversy matters. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Massachusetts and uses her legal background to assist clients in these areas, as well as in tax research and planning and mergers and acquisitions. Marsha brings a wide variety of legal skills and tax knowledge and a well-rounded perspective to any engagement as a result of her early career with the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked closely with Chief Counsel and Department of Justice attorneys, and her subsequent law firm and national accounting firm experience.
Prior to joining the tax practice at Clark Schaefer Hackett, Marsha was a tax manager at a Fortune 500 company where she successfully led the company’s tax department on IRS and state tax audits.
Marsha also has a solid background in personal income taxation and planning, and gifting and succession planning for high net worth individuals. This allows her to consider the impact of a business owner’s current and future transactions on personal finances.
