You want to earn your CPA license, and at CSH, we want that too! Earning your CPA is a big accomplishment – it’s a personal badge of honor.
Clark Schaefer Hackett recognizes that acquiring your CPA is a commitment and investment in your professional career. While getting this certification is your responsibility, the firm supports and encourages your efforts to pass the CPA exam.
To help, CSH offers incentives, including paying for all full-time associates to enroll in a CPA exam review course (up to $2,500), exam fee reimbursement, and financial rewards for passing the CPA exam.

You’re looking for a real-world, hands-on internship experience where you learn by doing. So, What Will You Be Doing?
As a CSH intern, you’ll be in a full-time, paid position, treated as if you are in a Staff I role, so you will get the actual experience of what it’s like to begin your career here.
Depending on which track you choose – audit or tax – you’ll perform audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements, or work on client tax returns.
A Unique Program
Your Clark Schaefer Hackett experience will be unlike any other public accounting internship. We’ve structured a program that supports your growth as a professional – not just as an accountant. It includes personal development, leadership development and technical training.
At our firm, interns have more opportunity for direct client experience. You’ll be part of a team that advises business owners, presidents, and CFOs, so your work will make a significant impact.
Success Right Out Of The Gate
To start your internship, you get two full weeks of instruction before you get to your desk. During this onboarding, one week of training will be specific to tax or audit, including the industry’s leading accounting systems and software. The other week will include an introduction to CSH culture, values, policies and processes.
For the duration of your internship, you’ll be paired with a CSH Buddy – likely a Staff I associate – who will be able to answer questions and help you navigate the firm. In short, you’re given what you need from the start, so you’re learning and contributing every day.

We also prepare every CSHer for success with an intensive two-week onboarding program. You’ll learn about the processes and procedures necessary to do your work in a hands-on way.
Coaching – With CSH MAX Coaching, our Staff and Seniors get one-on-one support to advance their skills and careers. Your coach will listen to your challenges, offer advice, and be an advocate for your advancement. Your coach will help you identify strengths and areas of improvement so that you can be your best.
Mentoring – The CSH MAX Mentoring Program is designed for Managers, and provides one year of guidance for career goals, professional development, and personal growth. The CSH MAX Mentoring Program is designed to help Mangers be great leaders.

2020 Get There Leadership Conference
June 23-24, 2019
You’re thinking about your career…your future. As an accounting student, you have a lot of options on your horizon, but how do you know which one is best for you? What kind of culture best suits your personality and goals?
Clark Schaefer Hackett’s 2020 Get There Leadership Conference can help you start to answer these questions, as well as learn a little more about yourself.
Your conference experience will start with an informal evening reception at Great American Ballpark, Tuesday, June 23, 2020, and move to a full day of networking, training and discussion at Clark Schaefer Hackett on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. You’ll gain objective insights on the accounting industry in an environment that is focused on you, your career goals and your future.

College and On-Campus Recruiting
In the first step of our recruiting process, we come to you. CSH actively recruits on college campuses every year and typically hires dozens of students. The majority of our on-campus recruiting takes place in September and October. In September we attend a variety of career fairs, “meet the firms” and other networking events.
In the next step, we’ll ask you to come to us. In October we interview select candidates in our offices and extend job offers to students for both entry-level and internship positions. Job offers are normally extended before the end of October.

To be considered for an entry-level Staff Accountant or Internship position, we recommend that you apply through your school’s online/e-recruiting system. If we are not formally recruiting at your school, you are welcome to submit a resume.
