We are pleased to announce that Columbus area CPA firm Schoonover Boyer + Associates (SB+A) has joined Clark Schaefer Hackett (CSH), growing our Columbus office to 87 associates, and our total staffing to 394. We are proud to now be Columbus’s eighth largest accounting firm.

Our strategic union with SB+A holds great value for everyone involved, particularly clients. In welcoming these professionals, CSH is augmenting our bench strength in the Affordable Housing and Not-for-Profit Industry Groups as well as the Benefits Services Group, among other areas.

SB+A was formed in Columbus in 1990, when Mike Schoonover and John Boyer combined their audit, tax and financial consulting practices. They’ve served clients in a range of industries, all of which are also served by CSH. The affordable housing industry comprises the largest percentage of SB+A’s client base. Mike and John have indicated that in CSH they have found a firm equally committed to their high standards of client service.

The associates coming from SB+A are looking forward to serving their existing clients with the additional depth and breadth offered by CSH. They are eager to showcase services that will be newly available to their clients, such as qualified plan design, business valuations and more.

In coming weeks the SB+A associates will move into the CSH office in Easton, located at 4449 Easton Way. Columbus Shareholder-in-Charge Ed Walsh will continue to lead CSH in this market, as he has since 2003. In 2012, the firm conducted a strategic alliance with Fentress & Barnes, which more than doubled our Columbus presence. And we anticipate further growth in this region; our Columbus office is currently under construction to expand so that it can accommodate those from SB+A as well as future workforce additions.

Clark Schaefer Hackett has been growing organically and through acquisition for decades, opening offices in three new markets over the last five years. We now serve clients throughout the country from locations in seven cities: Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo, Cleveland, Springfield, OH and Ft. Mitchell, KY.

SB+A leadership has said they were drawn to this position of strength. They are also proud to now offer more resources for client education such as CSH-produced seminars and webinars, roundtables, publications, regulatory updates, primary research, and original content, offered through traditional media and social media.

As a friend of the firm, you may realize that CSH offers solutions to organizations and individuals looking for qualified plan administration and consulting, personal wealth planning, employee benefit plan audits, transaction support, business valuations, litigation support, international services, and small business solutions, in addition to traditional tax and assurance services.

We invite you to explore, and perhaps rediscover, the services we offer, our library of guidance, and the CSH professionals who proudly deliver them.
