Anna Helfen specializes in tax compliance and planning for exempt organizations. She has experience not just with annual federal and state tax reporting requirements but has also assisted with organizations obtaining or reinstating their tax-exempt status with the IRS. Anna has also assisted organizations with determining their exposure to unrelated business income tax and has helped develop best practices that conform to IRS rules and communicate the organization’s accomplishments more effectively to potential donors. When not assisting the firm’s not-for-profit practice, Anna also provides expert advisory services to closely-held small businesses and individuals.
Anna is a graduate of Wright State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is active in the community, giving talks about non-for-profit tax matters, and has served on various charitable boards.
