Clark Schaefer Consulting is proud to announce that Andrew Sizemore, Director, and leader of our Risk & Controls group, has been awarded the prestigious IIA Emerging Leaders Award by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). This recognition is a testament to Andrew’s exceptional contributions to the internal audit profession and his dedication to the community. The IIA defines an emerging leader as a practitioner under the age of 35 or new to internal audit with a passion for the profession. Through the efforts of The IIA’s North American Board and Emerging Leaders Mentoring Knowledge Group (ELMKG), emerging leaders like Andrew are encouraged to engage, connect, and contribute to the profession.

They prepare to excel in their careers by participating in programming at IIA conferences and events, including the Emerging Leaders Forum. Additionally, they provide valuable contributions through volunteer service, both locally and internationally, and through thought leadership, including contributions to Internal Auditor magazine and blogs.

This year’s Emerging Leaders are not only navigating change but embracing it. By harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence, expansive language models, data analytics, and more, these leaders are helping their organizations and colleagues seize new opportunities. They share a common desire to continue learning, growing, and excelling in their respective fields, promising a bright future for the internal audit profession.

Clark Schaefer Hackett’s mission is to improve the lives of our people, our clients, and our community. Andrew has not only positioned himself as a key contributor to Clark Schaefer Consulting but has also demonstrated a strong commitment to his community by helping those in need and mentoring junior colleagues to accelerate their development.

Anne Millage, editor-in-chief of Internal Auditor magazine, noted, “This year’s Emerging Leaders are moving the profession forward, be it through their work with AI, data analytics, and other technologies or their focus on mentoring the next generation of internal auditors. They are a passionate group, which is reflected both in their jobs and their personal lives.”

The panel of judges for this year’s Emerging Leaders Award included global leaders in the internal audit profession, ensuring that the winners were evaluated on the criteria of business acumen/leadership, innovative thinking, service to the profession, and community service.
