Fred Francis Discusses Tax Fraud With Local Media

December 12, 2014

Share:

Francis-F-ColorFred Francis was interviewed on camera and quoted about fraudulent income tax filings in stories by the Dayton Daily News and WHIO-TV. The DDN story covered the fact that many Ohio state tax returns could be delayed in 2015 because the Ohio Department of Taxation will slow their processing to better catch and stop fraudulent filings by identity thieves. The WHIO report focused on the rash of fraudulent tax filings by prison inmates using stolen identities.

Before joining CSH as a tax accountant, Fred worked in collections enforcement for the IRS. In these stories, he advised audiences to file their taxes early to help avoid having returns filed in their names by identity thieves first. He also recommended that anyone who learns that they have been a victim of identity theft and tax fraud should seek immediate assistance from a tax professional experienced in fraud cases.
