Public accounting firm Clark Schaefer Hackett (CSH) has named John Venturella, CPA, its Chair of Tax Services.
In this role, Venturella holds responsibility for setting the direction of firmwide tax services, addressing staffing opportunities within the tax group, and evaluating the firm’s processes for efficiency and quality in serving tax clients. His dedication to proactive client service will drive his guidance of this team.
The firm keeps its clients abreast of changing regulations, legislation and policy, especially as they relate to tax issues. Venturella intends for his leadership to strengthen the firm’s commitment to frequent client communication and proactive tax planning.
In late July, Venturella’s expertise was requested by the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy. He travelled to Washington D.C. to offer a ground level view of how the Affordable Care Act will affect small to mid-sized businesses in our country.
Venturella is a Shareholder of the 75-year old firm which employees 350 in six Ohio offices. He’s been with CSH since 1989. As a current member of the firm’s Executive Committee, he serves as a leader in the strategic and operational management of the regional organization. In 2012 Venturella was part of the leadership team that oversaw acquisitions in Toledo and Columbus, propelling firm growth and making it one of the top 60 accounting firms in the nation.
Venturella specializes in the tax advisory needs of privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, providing counsel on income, trust and estate taxes, complex compliance tax issues associated with nontraditional investments, and succession planning. He is an attorney and CPA, as well as a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor.
An alumnus Ohio Northern University for both his undergraduate and law degrees, Venturella now serves on the Advisory Board of the ONU James F. Dicke College of Business Administration’s Master of Professional Practice in Accounting. He is also an Executive Board Member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Locally, Venturella serves on the board of directors of Atrium Medical Center, the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance, the Chamber of Commerce of Middletown, Monroe, & Trenton, and the Middletown Community Foundation. He is also a member of the Butler County United Way Campaign Cabinet.
