Companies beware: Recently an IRS compliance check requesting information regarding Roth 401(k) contributions was sent to the masses. An IRS agent assigned to compliance checks states that the request is only for information purposes to determine how the Roth source is being incorporated within the plan. According to the IRS agent, the compliance check along with a four page questionnaire was issued to thousands of plan sponsors. Anyone that receives the survey should contact their third party administrator for help completing the form and for accuracy purposes.
