In response to recent data breaches and personal information disclosures, the European Union has implemented the General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR) in an attempt to protect member states and their citizens’ privacy. While this regulation was intended to increase information security measures and transparency on data collection methods in the EU, many international companies have been left with questions regarding their need for compliance.
In this presentation we will look at the requirements outlined in the GDPR, its applicability to US companies that provide goods or services to EU citizens, and provide recommendations on how you can prepare for the increased scrutiny from international regulators.
